Last week on "Hit The Ropes Radio" Shane, Daris, and I discussed the role of African-Americans in the world of wrestling. We touched on many topics including who's the most decorated champion, who could be next in line to be World Champion and what it takes for an African-American to get to the top.
After spending a little time thinking about all Shawn Michaels has done in wrestling just in recent memory it got me to thinking: is he the best ever in America? Shawn has found himself relevant in wrestling in four decades now. From his beginnings with the Rockers to his rise to superstar status and now his legitimate claim to being a living legend.
Jim Cornette is now shown in the ring. He calls Tyler Black to the ring for an interview regarding this weekend's re-match for the ROH World Title between Black and Austin Aries.

Let's not get it twisted, some of the Raw hosts have been successful in drawing a good crowd while being entertaining. Shaq, Snoop Dogg and even Bob Barker were all great. But that's because they are larger than life characters. And that's what Rob Dyrdek is all about. For those who don't know, get in the know. Let's break down Rob Dyrdek's "it" factor, shall we? Rob's Got Peeps If the WWE were to get get Dydrek, they'd would be tapping into a whole new audience, the skateboarding crew. He has a cult-like following that just can't be denied, which led him to go from skateboard icon to an MTV stud. Where some MTV stars, anyone on or associated with The Hills, are so annoying it's not tolerable, Dyrdek has overcome the odds to blow up to a status that can't be denied. Now, not only do skateboarders follow him, but kids in general do too. Rob's Got Charisma Some call it that "it" factor; whatever it is, he has it. He's loved by kids, yet still respected by adults. You just can't hate this guy, he's untouchable. Basically, he's the John Cena of MTV...okay, he's Cena without all the boos. Best of all, he's funny without trying to be. I mean have you seen the "Dirty Girl" video? Pure genious. It's down-right hilarious.
Rob's a Trend Setter But it's not solely about who you can bring, it's what you bring. Dyrdek is a one of a kind trend setter that has the possibility to leave a lasting impression on the WWE Universe. The Fantasy Factory is so simple, it's unbelievably amazing. Not only did he create the ultimate play house, every male's dream, but he continues to turn it out with new and creative things for fans to gobble up like the impact sidehaks (now available at a Wal-Mart near you *cheezy grin*), the world's largest skateboard, and more. RAW prides itself on being fun and entertaining. Could you imagine the WWE bringing Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory to RAW? It would be like McMahon's Million Dollar Giveaway...substituting money for unforgettable fun. Rob likes to make his fans' fantasies come true and that's exactly what he could do for the WWE Universe. It could be as simple as letting little Timmy from the crowd be the "official" ring boy for a match. Or giving a lower card WWE superstar a shot at the WWE title. It's a theme that could run throughout the show and would actually be entertaining and fun.
Editors Note: After Posting, Rob had this to say on his Twitter account: @HitTheRopes WWE Here I come!! http://tinyurl.com/rawfantasy first up me vs the @thebellatwins Hours later, Nikki Bella announced on her Facebook that Rob would be hosting a future Raw.
