Last week on "Hit The Ropes Radio" Shane, Daris, and I discussed the role of African-Americans in the world of wrestling. We touched on many topics including who's the most decorated champion, who could be next in line to be World Champion and what it takes for an African-American to get to the top.
Today's the big football game, meaning it is a day filled with predictions and rumored celebrities to be in attendance. But when it comes to rumors, there is only one place to come and that is here, Hit the Ropes. We've got more news than Peyton Manning has touchdown passes and more awesomeness than Reggie Bush has female acquaintances... Well, that last one isn't so hard to beat since Bush is comfy with Ms. Kardashian. GO SAINTS! It also marks the comebacks of Frank Trigg and Matt Serra.
Super Bowl XLIVToday is Super Sunday. No it's not Wrestlemania, as we have a couple of months before that, but the NFL's version of the "Granddaddy of them All." But since the majority of sports fans don't have a dog in the fight, hey there's only two teams playing, many of those gathered in front of the screen will be there to check out the commercials.

Either way, they began with numerous ex-WWE stars showing Australia a glimpse of why they were former WWE stars. While on the Hulkamaina Tour, Hulk Hogan has made plenty of waves in the media. It started with Ric Flair slapping him and busting him wide open at the press conference, and it continued with a stop at a local radio show. When asked if he will appear as a wrestler on-screen, Hogan responded: I know there are several people on the show - storyline-wise - who say they are part of TNA (management) such as Mick Foley and Jeff Jarrett, but this situation is for real. I'm going in to turn this thing upside-down. I'm gonna pick the whole wrestling business up and bodyslam it and whoever's not on my team - on Team Hogan at TNA. So, apparently, he's shooting this as if he actually bought into the company. Word hasn't leaked whether this a shoot or not, so we'll have to stay tuned. Hogan went on to say he saw Stone Cold Steve Austin right before he went to Australia and told him he should come to TNA. It was an invitation that went unanswered. That's a bit weird considering he said it was face-to-face and not via email or voice message. But that's all depending on the context, which was probably in passing. But the most quoted statement came when Hulk Hogan went off on a tangent on wrestling The Rock at WM18. He went from being able to go out and still do his thing against the best wrestler in the world to putting the TNA writers and wrestlers on point by stating: I'm not gonna keep shoving a bunch of terrible, horrible, stale programming down their throats. I'm gonna listen to the fans. I'm gonna take the writers and tell them, "Go get another job. Sit in the back. If I need you to write a jingle for a commercial, maybe we'll use you for that". This is the wrestling business. If these wrestlers can't talk and these wrestlers can't wrestle then they need to head for the door. I'm assuming with the last part of the statement Hogan won't be wrestling, but does this mean Vince Russo will be out of the door? Not necessarily. But Hogan is definitely putting the world on notice that he is coming to TNA to make a change, and if people can't hang then there's the door. Reminds me of the Dixie Carter's monologue which was shown on TNA iMPACT! a few weeks ago. Looks like they're on the same page. Hulkamania Tour Results:
