Last week on "Hit The Ropes Radio" Shane, Daris, and I discussed the role of African-Americans in the world of wrestling. We touched on many topics including who's the most decorated champion, who could be next in line to be World Champion and what it takes for an African-American to get to the top.
Today's the big football game, meaning it is a day filled with predictions and rumored celebrities to be in attendance. But when it comes to rumors, there is only one place to come and that is here, Hit the Ropes. We've got more news than Peyton Manning has touchdown passes and more awesomeness than Reggie Bush has female acquaintances... Well, that last one isn't so hard to beat since Bush is comfy with Ms. Kardashian. GO SAINTS! It also marks the comebacks of Frank Trigg and Matt Serra.
Super Bowl XLIVToday is Super Sunday. No it's not Wrestlemania, as we have a couple of months before that, but the NFL's version of the "Granddaddy of them All." But since the majority of sports fans don't have a dog in the fight, hey there's only two teams playing, many of those gathered in front of the screen will be there to check out the commercials.

It has been reported that Shane McMahon is in talks with Dana White and the UFC, but the reason why is still unclear. Since Shane announced his resignation from the WWE, it's been widely speculated what it was he would be doing. The wrestling news wires have reported things from two sides of the spectrum. The first thing that came out was Shane was meeting with UFC to make sure the WWE's pay-per-views and the UFC's schedules didn't overlap. This didn't make much sense seeing how UFC holds pay-per-views on Saturdays and the WWE on Sundays.
Now it's being reported that Shane McMahon is meeting with Dana White to buy into the company. Shane is also supposedly going to help expand to the international markets. This might be a bit suspect, as well. Recently, White was negotiating to bring in the biggest fighter in the world, Fedor, but the UFC refused because Fedor's team (M-1 Global) wanted part of the profits. So for Shane McMahon to come in and get some of the profits is a wait and see. Shane is big into the fight game. He was the main reason why the WWE pursued Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather coming to WrestleMania. He also made an attempt to purchase the Pride organization before they were eventually bought out by the UFC.
