Show starts with JeriShow coming out to the ring, suited up as usual. Jericho says that they need to clear up some misconceptions, and begins his verbal attack on the crowd, as usual. Jericho says they're here to expose DX. He then goes on to boast JeriShows 4-month reign, and says that DX has never BEAN tag team champs while they won the first night of their conception. Nice fun fact, theres 42 championships between Big Show and Jericho, including Jericho's first ever undisputed championship, and Big Show being the only person in history to hold The WCW, WWE and ECW Championships. They also bring up the fact that DX has never been in a TLC match. Nice DX chant by the crowd, until they appear.
Trips on the mic is as good as always. He tries to get a little philosophical, talking about the worldwide sea of green, but it seems to miss its mark. Trips mentions that in winning the titles they get to ban Jericho from Raw. Nice spot from the crowd singing the out "hey hey hey, goodbye." Triple H challenges Jericho to a match later in the night, if Jericho loses, he faces DX in a handicap match next week, if he wins, Triple H faces JeriShow in a handicap match.
Opinion: Quote of the night so far "Look at it this way, we've never been tag team champions, but it doesnt matter, You guys are tag team champions and nobody gives a crap about you." followed by a close second by Jericho - "I've got 4 words for ya - I'm Never Leaving Raw."
Promo did its point to compare JeriShow and DX, but drug on far too long. A 15 minute promo to start Raw seemed kinda pointless when it couldve been done in far less. Jericho did a good Chris Benoit impression. Interesting to see that the tri-branded unified tag team championship match gets opening promo and not the WWE Championship match.
Divas Tag Team Match - Divas Champion Melina and Gail Kim vs. Maryse and Jillian
Very weak promo before the match between Maryse and Jillian. She still sucks on the mic, but easy on the eyes.
Melina goes after Maryse, Jillian tries to rollup Melina to no avail, tags in Gail Kim. Nice facebuster by Jillian, tags in Maryse, who gets hit with a neckbreaker and tags in Melina. Melina goes for the Last Call on Maryse, misses, Maryse wins with a DDT.
Winners: Maryse and Jillian
Opinion: Weak match. No ring time for the more athletic two of the four divas in action, and the same usual diva moveset. Seeing Maryse win was fairly expected.
Recap of last week's Raw and Sheamus.
Match 2: Sheamus vs. Santino Marella
Shaemus gets on the mic first and says what's expected, that he's already put Cena thru a table, and when he does it at TLC, he'll become champion. Nothing new WWE Champion
Santino says that Sheamus is jealous because he can actually enjoy the sunshine, and that Sheamus is after his lucky charms. Great on the mic.
Bell never even rings, the whole match is again, as expected, to put Sheamus over. He gives Santino a bicycle kick, followed by a crucifix powerbomb. Sheamus then gets a table, sets it up, and does a spear/spinebuster thru the table on Santino.
Winner (I guess?): Sheamus
Opinion: Too expected. As soon as Santino came out, it was expected that we'd get some good jokes from Santino, ultimately ended with a beatdown.
Backstage promo JeriShow, and show Show standing next to Verne Troyer. The size difference is absolutely unbelievable. Jericho takes it as an insult that another host disrespects Jericho. Troyer ignores Jericho, and acknowledges Show.
Verne Troyer comes out, and says that everyone at Summerslam was nice except the Miz. Miz comes out and begins to bash Troyer. He does a pretty spot on Dr. Evil impression, including calling Troyer Mini Miz. Troyer says that he's better with the ladies that Miz, Miz says he'll kick Verne thru the ring posts like a football. Enter Mark Henry.
Miz then calls Mark Henry fat bastard, and does a pretty good impression there too. Mark Henrys grin when Verne sets up a match between Miz and Mark Henry is hilarious.
Opinion: Couldnt they find someone actually involved in a US Title picture to back Verne instead of Henry? Seems like the only reason he's out now is just so he's not forgotten.
Match 3: Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton
During Kofis entrance, Rhodes mugs Kofi. Good job illustrating Kofi as beat up. Then after Ortons music hits, DiBiase continues the assault. Kofi says he's ok for the match, and Orton comes out.
Orton goes after Kofi's le the entire match, including slamming it on the Ring Apron and around the ringpost. Orton continues the assault, Kofi fights back and gets an RKO for his trouble, and pinned. after the match Orton hits a nice snap off the turnbuckle on Kofi.
Winner: Randy Orton.
Opinion: The ambush helped to make this fairly expected. If that hadnt happened it might be a little less predictable. Nice way to keep the feud fresh though, as Kofi has manhandled Orton as of late.
Backstage promo with Verne playing MVP in Smackdown Vs Raw 2010. Of course Jillian tries to question Mark Henry's personality, as Miz did. MVP asks Jillian to sing, so Mark Henry can dance. He ends up crushing Jillian. B-E-A-utiful.
Cena pulls up in a very sweet ride, and after an extremely long commercial break, he comes to the ring. Promo starts pretty much the same, recaps being put thru a table by Sheamus, and that he still hasnt accomplished anything. Cena says that if he loses, he'll use the rematch clause at TLC. He then says that tonight will be Sheamus vs. Cena for the WWE Championship. Enter Carlito?
Carlito proves he's still good on the mic, and says that theres a whole locker room of superstars that hope Sheamus wins at TLC because theyre tired of Cena hogging the spotlight. Its funny how they let the Internet Community's opinion out thru superstars that get no tv time. Cena retorts, saying Carlito picked the wrong guy on the wrong night. Nice to see angry Cena for a change, I love it.
Cena eggs on Carlito, he goes for the apple, and Cena gives him an Attitude Adjustment for his trouble. Nice seeing you Carlito, we'll see you in a few months.
Enter Sheamus. Cena squares up. Exit Sheamus.
Opinion: Nice to see Carlito, but I cant help but feel that they gave him this to accomplish 2 things. 1. to give him air time, and 2. because he's still fluent on the mic. I get the feeling he's leaving WWE soon and this was a last attempt to put him on tv. Kinda weak to see Sheamus talk so much trash earlier in the night, only to stand on stage for 10 seconds in front of Cena before running away.
MVP comes out on stage to introduce Mark Henry, and his "personality." MVP's a good hypeman, he could be some emcee's "Flava Flav." Mark Henry is pretty bad on the mic. Like seriously. Terrible. I actually would rather listen to Three Six Mafia on his entrance than Mark Henry rap. MVP tried to add some hype at, least.
Opinion: Never again Mark Henry, never again.
Match 4: The Miz vs. Mark Henry
At least I can say he's better in ring than on the mic. Some nice counters by Miz, he actually has gotten much better in the ring. Miz goes to the top rope, gets caught and put into a World Strongest Slam for the pinfall. Really short match seeing how neither is getting much tv time as of late.
After the match, Verne brings out the Bella Twins, Kelly Kelly (YES YES!) and Eve.
Winner: Mark Henry
Opinion: I'm not sure now whether or not Id rather listen to Mark Henry rap again or watch this match. Its pretty bad.
DX Promo - DX is talking about a little man handing them a little piece of paper saying they have to goto Little Peoples Court. Lmao.
Match 5: Main Event: Triple H vs. Chris Jericho
Jericho comes out first, alone, and Trips comes out with HBK. Interesting. Foreshadowing Big Show involvment later perhaps?
HBK joins the booth, and as predicted, Big Show shows up. Interesting choice that Big Show shows up so early in the match, and not in the entrance, and still in a suit nonetheless.
Show joins commentary, as Jericho beats up on Trips. Nice Triple H chants during the match. Nice high knee and facebuster by Triple H. Fairly weak for a main event thus far. Jericho tries the Walls of Jericho, gets reversed. Jericho reverses the Pedigree into a pin with bridge, for a 2 count. Jericho reverses another Pedigree attempt into a nice DDT. Outside the ring, Big Show manhandles HBK, punches Triple H. Big Show gets tossed, HBK hits Jericho with Sweet Chin Music, and the ref throws out HBK, with both men laid out in the ring. Trips reverses a Codebreaker attempt, Jericho reverses the Pedigree into the Walls of Jericho, Trips reverses the Walls into a rollup, for the win.
Winner: Triple H
Opinion: After a slow start, the match picked up with alot of counters. Expected to see involvement with HBK and Show, nice to see them tossed. Triple H picks up the win, which was unexpected, as usually its a face involved in a handicap match against two heels.
Final Opinion: Verne Troyer is not a good guest host. The show lacked continuous "flare", and was fairly weak with the exception being the main event. Hopefully, things pick up next week.
